PhD Admission Preparation Course
This comprehensive PhD Admission Preparation Program empowers ambitious individuals to confidently pursue their doctoral aspirations. Our program equips you with the knowledge, practical skills, and resources necessary to excel in the competitive PhD application process. Approx. 5 hours per week/entire module. This can include any interactive activities pre and post video and interactive reading activities.
Interactive Course
Videos can be simple and short talking head videos – they can be edited by a media designer and visuals/media graphics can be added by the media designer. Key component, however, is the key message in the video
Videos approx. 5-15 mins depending on topic – all videos must be captioned in order to be fully accessible to all participants along with a downloadable or viewable transcript
What You'll Learn In This Course
Course Aim: to cover a wide range of aspects related to studying at PG and PhD levels in
UK/Anglo educational culture in higher education
Topics covered will be looked at fairly superficially and asynchronously as longer, more in depth synchronous and asynchronous courses can be offered in the long term that involve interaction, writing development and practice of academic literacy skills at PG levels
Who This Course is For
We can include interactive and collaborative activities within the platform (i.e Moodle or Blackboard) using for example H5P or similar applications. Discussion forums, Moodle board, group blogs and wikis are other typical features available within a platform that can be utilised and monitored closely on a regular basis
We know that courses that include regular interactive components are more likely to be completed or have a higher completion rate

Melanie Ferreira brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to make sure you achieve your goals. She has an MA in TESOL from the top 4th university in the UK and 9th globally, UCL, London, with various top certifications in English language teaching, including the CELTA and DELTA from Cambridge University ELA department. Notable positions include EAP tutor and personal tutor at the University of Leeds, the University of Leicester, the Institute of Education, UCL and the University of London, digital learning consultant at the University of Essex, and learning designer at CEG Digital, where she developed PG online degree courses.
Previously, she has been a lecturer in various programs at the University of Law, Aston University, the University of Hertfordshire, the University of Westminster, Nanchang University in China, Fuzhou University, China and the South Western University of Finance and Economics in China.
